On Sunday, August 30, 2026, the Applied Foreign Languages Study Program (D4 Bahasa Asing Terapan), Vocational School, Universitas Diponegoro, welcomed a visiting delegation from Akashi College, Japan. The group, led by Adriana Sensei and Emoto Sensei together with 11 Akashi College students, joined a cultural excursion to Pura Mangkunegaran in Surakarta (Solo), one of Central Java’s most significant royal palaces.
The visit was arranged as part of an ongoing academic and cultural exchange between the two institutions, aimed at strengthening cross-cultural understanding among students of applied foreign languages. During the visit, the delegation explored the palace’s distinctive Javanese architecture, ornate interior details, and the rich cultural heritage preserved within its walls, gaining firsthand insight into the artistic and historical values embodied in the Mangkunegaran court.
The Akashi College guests were accompanied by Ms. Windy Harsiwi, lecturer of the Applied Foreign Languages program, along with five students from the program, who assisted with guiding and facilitating cross-cultural interaction throughout the visit.
This collaborative cultural excursion reflects the department’s commitment to internationalization and experiential learning, offering students from both countries an authentic opportunity to engage with Indonesian heritage while fostering lasting academic partnerships between Universitas Diponegoro and Akashi College.<>
